We’re so excited to announce that we’ll be participating in a citywide Soap Box Derby Car race in Central Park on June 19th. There will be 50+ cars built through out the whole city racing
After two months learning about the cars and getting excited for the race, the kids worked as a team, learned how to use tools, and did a great job at building Green Apple Kids’ 2 cars!
The race is going to take place in Central Park (directions ahead), on June 19th (Father's day), at 7:00am. We will love if you join us to support the kids, It's going to be so much fun!
Central Park Directions:
The event is on Center Dr Dead Rd by volleyball courts. Vehicles should enter on 72nd Street and 5th avenue, drive across 72nd street onto Center Drive on the entry. When they exit, they should go out 72nd and Central Park West.
Public Transportation is probably easiest to get to a the 59th / 5th stop on the N,Q,R or the 72nd street stop on the B/C.
Please bring blankets to sit on grass. Carry tote folded beach chairs can be used for elderly and disabled.
Look at all the fun we had while building the cars!
We’re working with an amazing program called 1000 Feet Project, they're responsible for this great idea, learn more about them and the Derby Car experience:
